iRig UA hits the airwaves on BBC talk radio

BBC Radio 5 Live team unanimous: "It's actually very, very effective!"

BBC Radio 5 Live features their 'Let's talk about tech' spot every Wednesday afternoon in the UK, courtesy of the BBC Click team. Listeners on the 17th June were treated to a special demonstration and round-table discussion featuring iRig UA.

The regular presenters of the Afternoon Show, as usual, were joined by the BBC Click team who included a guitarist demonstrating iRig UA together with AmpliTube UA running on an Android smartphone.

Their comments give you a flavour of the discussion:

"It's simple to use. If you are a beginner you just tap on the screen on the phone."

"You can fire up the tone and do all different things with it, it is really cool."

"In comparison [to carrying around and wiring up a real amp], it is really impressive - I was pleasantly surprised about how good it was. It sounds really clean, and the best thing is the latency - there is NO delay, it's just so good."

"You've got numerous pedals to choose from, you can learn a lot about how pedals work."

"So, essentially, it's good value."

"It's actually very, very effective."

and the final comment was:

"If you were going out to buy the actual kit you'd be looking at the best part of a grand [£1000], then there's the actual lugging around of all that kit. So you can shrink that all down into your mobile phone - it's bonkers, buskers will love it!"

You can listen to the full session as a BBC podcast here(starts at 29:30)
