What changes does the Firmware Updater make?

This firmware update allows the iRig BlueBoard to sync with your Mac or iOS device without the need of the previous 'iRig BlueBoard' "bridge" app. Now, when you turn on the iRig BlueBoard, it will be seen as a MIDI controller on compatible devices.

On iOS, a compatible MIDI over Bluetooth app, like Loopy HD, or GarageBand will be required.

*Important: The iRig BlueBoard will not connect to the iOS Settings > Bluetooth menu. This is not a designed function of the iRig BlueBoard firmware update.

Once updated, there will be 3 modes of the BlueBoard, which you can set easily upon powering on of the BlueBoard.

PowerUp Mode Selection:

  • Powering up the BB holding switch "A" will make it boot in proprietary mode.
  • Powering up the BB holding switch "B" will make it boot in MIDI 1 mode.
  • Powering up the BB holding switch "C" will make it boot in MIDI 2 mode.

During power-up, if A, B, or C are held, they will illuminate to give confirmation that the button has been successfully pressed.

Every time the iRig BlueBoard is powered on, the button corresponding to the last used mode lights up for one second. Powering up without holding any button will boot into the last used mode.

For full information on the iRig BlueBoard modes, check out your User Manual here. This will also be stored in the My Products section of your IK account.
