Pianoo's keyboards expert Jörg Sunderkötter has taken a very close look at IK's SampleTank 4 and its different versions. He was truly impressed by its power, effects, ease of use and 'heavenly' pianos.

My favourite is the "C7 Grand Delicate". Its sound is geared towards film music and appears to have been recorded very close up - it's as if you'd be sitting on the sounding board of the grand piano itself. The timbre is rather muted but not dull. You can play extremely soft passages with this sound and you can get wonderfully soft attacks - it's simply heavenly."

Not least because of the abundance of effects, SampleTank 4 can be recommended for example for all those who use a free DAW with very few sounds and effects. This sound workstation has a great deal to offer particularly for arranging music. Up to 16 instruments can be played in a multi-setup. That can also occur on several MIDI channels if you'd like to arrange drums, bass, guitars, etc, separately."

"With the content offered, SampleTank 4 is an absolute top tip for all those who need great keyboard sounds for arrangements, composing and performing. The C7 grand piano with its extensive variations gives you additionally a fantastic sounding piano which sounds really good even in the very affordable SE version. You can just start with SampleTank SE and then add in libraries or instrument packs. The usage is very simple and clear and the large number of included effects and editing possibilities make SampleTank a very powerful keyboard studio."

"Bei dem Flügelklang haben sich die Sounddesigner von IK Multimedia regelrecht ausgetobt, denn es gibt zahlreiche Varianten, die aus der Sampling-Session abgeleitet wurden und als Presets zur Verfügung stehen. Mein Favorit ist das „C7 Grand Delicate“. Der Sound ist auf Filmmusik ausgerichtet und wirkt sehr nah aufgenommen – man glaubt beinahe, im Resonanzboden des Flügels zu sitzen. Die Klangfarbe ist eher gedeckt, aber nicht dumpf. Man kann mit diesem Sound extrem sanfte Passagen spielen und bekommt wunderschöne zarte Attacks – einfach himmlisch klingt das."

"Mit dem gebotenen Inhalt ein absoluter Tipp für alle, die gute Keyboard-Sounds zum Arrangieren, Komponieren und Spielen haben wollen. Mit dem C7 Grand in seinen vielfältigen Varianten bekommt man obendrein einen fantastisch klingenden Klavier-Sound, der bereits in der günstigen SE-Version richtig gut klingt. Man kann bei SampleTank 4 SE klein einsteigen,  um später auf umfangreiche Libraries oder gezielt um einzelne Instrumenten-Packs zu erweitern. Die Handhabung ist einfach und übersichtlich, und die zahlreich enthaltenen Effekte und Edit-Möglichkeiten machen IK Multimedia SampleTank 4 zu einem leistungsfähigen Keyboard-Studio."
